Khwaja Asif said, ‘Someone is living in Canada, some in America… All these are shameless people, these people come to bury the dead bodies and then go away.’ APPNA has strongly condemned this statement. He termed them as ‘disgraceful’ to Pakistanis in North America and Europe. APPNA stressed that the Pakistani community living in the western world, especially North America, has always given priority to the welfare of Pakistan.
‘Pakistani migrants come to bury the elderly’
The organization expressed its dismay over Asif’s derogatory statement and stressed that political differences should be addressed through civil dialogue instead of hate speech. APPNA condemns any attempt to humiliate the entire Pakistani community. The organization expressed particular concern over Asif’s remarks that expatriate Pakistanis from North America or Europe come to Pakistan only for the purpose of burying their elders or selling property.
The organization appealed to Shehbaz Sharif
The organization emphasized that such sentiments should never be accepted. The APPNA also expressed its dismay towards the members of the National Assembly who encouraged Asif. The organization suggested that the Speaker of the Assembly should have taken notice and expunged these hate words from the parliamentary records. APPNA appeals Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif should take cognizance of Asif’s statement.
