Shirdi Sai Electricals plans to invest about Rs 1,000 crore to expand transformer manufacturing capacity and set up a conductor unit. The company is making this plan keeping in mind the objective of meeting the increasing domestic and international demand. According to Bhasha news, the company’s Chairman and Managing Director N Visvesvara Reddy said that this investment amount will also be used to set up a conductor manufacturing unit in YSR district (formerly Cuddapah district).
Company will increase capacity of transformer manufacturing
According to the news, Reddy said that the company will use internal resources to implement these business plans in the next 8-12 months. He said Shirdi Sai Electricals Limited (SSEL) will increase its annual capacity of transformer manufacturing from 33,500 MVA to 53,000 MVA. The existing capacity of the Kadapa unit is 10,000 MVA, while the unit located at Naini, Uttar Pradesh has a capacity of 20,000 MVA.
India’s largest transformer manufacturing company
Indo Tech Transformers Ltd, the group’s listed unit, has an installed capacity of 3,500 MVA. Reddy said the company plans to expand the capacity of the Kadapa plant to 25,000 MVA and the capacity of the Indo Tech transformer unit near Chennai to 8,000 MVA. There is a plan to increase the capacity utilization in Naini plant to 100 percent.
He said that these investments will create direct and indirect employment opportunities and contribute to the economic development of the areas surrounding the plants.
