Saudi Prince Muhammad Bin Salman
Islamabad: The much-awaited visit of Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to Pakistan has been postponed due to undisclosed reasons. This information was given in a news on Saturday. According to the news of ‘Geo News’, earlier it was expected that Mohammed bin Salman would reach Islamabad on May 19 on a two-day visit. At present, this is being considered a big blow for Pakistan.
People of Pakistan are waiting
Commenting on the visit of the Saudi Arabian crown prince, Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch on Friday clarified that details of the visit would be made public as soon as an itinerary is finalized between Islamabad and Riyadh. Baloch expressed confidence that the visit will happen soon and will definitely be valuable as the people of Pakistan are eagerly waiting for the Saudi Arabian leader.
PM Shahbaz Sharif went to Saudi Arabia
The high-level visit was likely to follow recent diplomatic and trade-related talks between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia following Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to Saudi Arabia in March. The visit of the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia has now been delayed. His visit holds great significance for Pakistan which is suffering from cash crunch.
Pakistan hopes for investment
Pakistan is expecting big investments from Saudi Arabia in various sectors. This will be Mohammed bin Salman’s first visit to Pakistan in five years. He last visited Pakistan in February 2019 during the rule of former Prime Minister Imran Khan. He was scheduled to visit Pakistan in 2022 as part of his visit to the region, but the trip was canceled at the last minute. Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have strong trade, defense and cultural ties. More than 27 lakh Pakistani expatriates live in Saudi Arabia. (Language)
