New Delhi. Today is an important day for Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren. He has to present his argument before the Election Commission today to save his chair in the mining lease case. Actually, the mining lease was allotted in Jharkhand in the name of Hemant Soren. On getting this lease as CM, there was a case against him in the Jharkhand High Court, on receipt of the complaint, the Governor of the state sent it to the Election Commission. After this, the Election Commission had sent a notice to Hemant asking why his assembly membership should not be cancelled. The reply to this notice was sent by Soren. After which the Election Commission had summoned him personally. Hemant Soren will appear before the commission today along with his lawyer for this reason.
Actually, the case of taking another means of profit while CM is being made against Hemant Soren. In the Jharkhand High Court, the government has agreed that Hemant Soren was given a mining lease in violation of the rules. The High Court has also taken a strict stand in this matter. Now if the Election Commission after investigation finds that Soren has violated the rules and obtained other means of profit, then his membership may go to the extent of. Hemant Soren has to appear in person today to state that he did not get any benefit from the mining lease issued in his name.
Hemant Soren returned the mining lease only after receiving a complaint from the BJP in this matter. BJP has also complained in this matter that Hemant also has the mining department. Even after this, a direct game of corruption has been played in giving them the mining lease. On the other hand, on Monday, a day before his appearance in the Election Commission, Hemant Soren also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi. It was described as a common courtesy call on behalf of the state government.
