New Delhi. During the hearing in the Supreme Court on Monday in the case of giving permission for abortion to a 14 year old minor rape victim girl, Chief Justice DY Chandrachud withdrew his old order giving permission for abortion and said that the interest of the child is paramount.
The CJI said that the parents of the minor girl expressed their desire to take their daughter back home and give birth to a child, after which the court withdrew its order for abortion.
The CJI said that after talking to both the parents over video conferencing, he reserved his decision while withdrawing the order.
