Seoul. North Korea failed missile test. This information was given by the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of South Korea on Wednesday. The JCS said in a statement that the DPRK conducted the test in Pyongyang’s Sunan area at around 9:30 a.m. local time, but the test failed shortly thereafter.
Intelligence officials from South Korea and the US are conducting additional analysis, Xinhua news agency reported.
Earlier, Japan’s NHK reported, citing the Japanese Defense Ministry, that North Korea had launched a ballistic missile on Wednesday morning.
South Korea said that North Korea tested a new intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) system on 27 February and 5 March, but the DPRK said it was for satellite development tests.
