The country’s leading automaker Mahindra has been in discussion about the XUV700 for a long time, today the subject of discussion about this car is its custom version, which Mahindra & Mahindra has handed over to Tokyo Paralympic gold medalist Avani Lekhara. The exclusive XUV700 gets custom-made front driver and passenger seats, which provide easy access for people with disabilities.
You may recall that in August 2021, Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra announced that the company would gift Lekhara a special SUV to commemorate her gold medal winning in the women’s 10m AR Standing SH1 final. Let us tell you, the para brought by Avani was the first gold medal for India in the sport, with which Avani also set a new Paralympic record of 249.6 metres.
specially formulated
The Mahindra XUV700 introduced to Avani has specially designed front seats, which have two operations – forward and return. The forward function moves the seat out of the vehicle, and slides down to facilitate easy user entry and exit, while the return function moves the seat back in. This function is designed to address a significant challenge faced by people who are disabled as they find it difficult to get in and out of the car. At the same time, this custom SUV has easy access to a special seat from a wheelchair.
