Holi is the second holiday in March.
It is worth noting that in the month of March, there will be a holiday of the stock market for two days. The first holiday is today on March 1, while the second holiday will be on March 18 due to the festival of Holi. There will be no trading on NSE and BSE even on 18th March 2022. According to the BSE website, if we talk about the year 2022, then this year the stock market holiday started on 26 January i.e. on the occasion of Republic Day. At the same time, the last stock market holiday of this year will be on 8 November 2022 on the occasion of Guru Nanak Jayanti.
13 days holiday this year
According to the list of stock market holidays for the year 2022 announced by the Indian stock exchanges, trading on NSE and BSE will not be for 13 days in a whole year, except Saturdays and Sundays falling in a week. There will be no trading in Equity Segment, Equity Derivative Segment and SLB Segment on these days due to Stock Market Holidays. In 2022, the first stock market holiday after January 26, there will be no stock market holiday in the month of February, while the next month of March for Mahashivratri and Holi will fall on March 1 and March 18 respectively.
April will be the longest holiday
There will be two stock market holidays in the month of April. In these, on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti / Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Jayanti, there will be no business on April 14, while the next day on April 15, 2022, due to Good Friday, the stock market will be closed. It is worth noting that due to April 14 and 15 being Thursday and Friday respectively, the market will remain closed for the maximum number of days in April. This will be the biggest because April 16 and 17 will be Saturday and Sunday. That is, there will be a holiday in the stock market for the entire four days in April.
Three holidays in September-October
Talking about the month of May, the Indian stock market will be a holiday on 3 May 2022 for Eid-ul-Fitr (Ramadan Eid). This will be the only stock market holiday in this month. Apart from this, there will be three holidays each in the month of August and October in the Indian stock market. If you look at the list, in August 2022, there will be stock market holidays on 9th, 15th and 31st August for Muharram, Independence Day and Ganesh Chaturthi festivals respectively, while similarly, 5th, 24th and 26th in the month of October 2022 respectively. There will be no business in the stock market for three days for the festivals of Dussehra, Diwali Lakshmi Pujan and Diwali Balipratipada.
This time Muhurta trading will be on October 24
Muhurta trading will take place on 24 October 2022 (Diwali-Lakshmi Pujan). Thereafter in the month of November 2022, there will be only one stock market holiday on 8th of November for Guru Nanak Jayanti celebration. As mentioned above, this will be the last stock market holiday to fall in the year 2022.
