New Delhi: Union Minister of State Sanjeev Balyan’s convoy had reached Madhkarimpur village in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh on Saturday evening of March 30 in connection with an election programme, where some youths tried to harm him by pelting stones. The vehicles included in the convoy were damaged in the accident and many workers were injured. There was an uproar in the village after the incident.
When a program was being organized at the village head’s house to welcome the BJP candidate, anti-social elements carried out the incident. The police reached the village and investigated the incident. Sanjeev Balyan is BJP candidate from Muzaffarnagar Lok Sabha seat. On Saturday, March 30, there was the inauguration of the politician’s election office in Kasba Khatauli, which he could not attend. A welcome program was organized at the house of Prime Minister Rakesh Kumar in his village Madhakarimpur.
Uproar broke out in the village
The minister was welcomed after the arrival of Sanjeev Baliyan’s convoy. When former MLA Vikram Saini was giving his statement, the youth standing on the roadside started shouting slogans and started pelting stones, due to which the vehicles of the convoy were damaged. The glasses of the vehicles were broken. There was chaos in the village. About 10 workers were injured and 15 vehicles were damaged in the attack. Sanjeev Balyan’s supporters became active and tried to catch the youth who were pelting stones, but they escaped through the fields.
Sanjeev Balyan was at the village head’s residence at the time of the incident.
Even before the police could reach the spot, the supporters of the Union Minister of State had safely taken his convoy out of the village. CO Khatauli is investigating the case. When Sanjeev Baliyan was staying at the village head’s house, some people pelted stones and bricks at his convoy.
