New Delhi. The second highest score in the history of the tournament was seen in the new season of the Indian Premier League. Kolkata Knight Riders won the toss and came to bat first against Delhi Capitals. Thanks to the stormy innings of Sunil Narine, Angkrish Raghuvanshi and Andre Russell, KKR scored a huge score of 272 runs for 7 wickets. Even captain Rishabh Pant’s brilliant fifty could not save the team from a big defeat. The entire team was bundled out for 166 runs and Kolkata won the match by a huge margin of 106 runs.
On Wednesday, in the 16th match of the Indian Premier League, Kolkata captain Shreyas Iyer won the toss and chose to bat first against Delhi. Sunil Narine along with Angkrish Raghuvanshi made such a stormy start for KKR. Due to which the score reached 150 runs in 11 overs. In the end, Andre Russell and Rinku Singh scored 272 runs by hitting explosive shots.

Narine’s storm, Angkrish’s fifty
Sunil Narine, who played an important role in bowling for Kolkata Knight Riders, batted in the opening batting which changed everything. Gave the team a stormy start by scoring 85 runs off 39 balls with 7 fours and as many sixes. Angkrish, who was debuting in IPL, played a quick inning of 54 runs in 27 balls. The Under 19 star made the match memorable by scoring a fifty in the first match.
Rishabh Pant’s good innings went in vain
The batting of Delhi team, which came to chase a big score, failed miserably. Top batsmen failed to score runs. David Warner, Prithvi Shaw and Mitchell Marsh returned after getting out cheaply. Captain Rishabh Pant came and took care of the team which was in trouble. Varun Chakraborty scored 26 runs in one over by hitting big shots on 6 consecutive balls. He scored 55 runs by hitting 4 fours and 5 sixes in 25 balls.
