The court has asked this question while directing the accused in a case of bitcoin fraud that came to light in 2018 to cooperate in the investigation. The next hearing of the case will take place after 4 weeks. Significantly, in the Union Budget presented on February 1, 2022, the Central Government had announced a 30 percent tax on income from other cryptocurrencies, including bitcoin. Along with this, it was announced to levy one percent TDS on the transaction of any type of crypto asset.
