For the past few days, there has been a lot of discussion in the textile markets of Surat that the dyeing and processing units are going to observe a month-long holiday. For this, the processors are also holding meetings and discussing issues including cost escalation. However, there are differences in processors regarding how many days the mills have to be closed.
On the other hand, FOSTA, the largest organization of textile markets of Surat, has issued a circular making it clear that after Diwali, the textile markets will open on Tuesday, November 9, 2021. The circular states that on the occasion of Deepawali, all markets will be Tuesday after the worship of Deepawali on Thursday, November 4, 2021 and will open on Tuesday, November 9, 2021 i.e. profit fifth. It has also been clarified in the circular that from November 5 to November 8, 2021, if traders want to open shops for shop Muhurta etc., then they can open with the approval of the concerned market.
It has to be seen what the processors and Weaver brothers clarify about opening the market after Deepawali after this clear stance of the textile markets.
