Due to the defeat of the Samajwadi Party (SP) in the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, the process of blaming each other has started between the leaders of the alliance. Keshav Dev Maurya, the president of the Mahan Dal included in the SP alliance, has blamed Swami Prasad Maurya for the defeat. Keshav Dev has said about Swami Prasad Maurya, who left the Yogi cabinet just before the elections, that his arrival could also be a part of BJP’s conspiracy. Swami Prasad Maurya himself was not only in overconfidence, he also brought other leaders of SP into overconfidence.
Samajwadi Party President Keshav Dev Maurya has said that his party was not given due respect. He has also expressed displeasure over being given only two seats to his party. Keshav Dev Maurya told ABP news channel on Tuesday that the cadre of Mahan Dal was under-utilised by the SP candidates. SP’s focus on that vote was less.
Describing Swami Prasad Maurya as a conspiracy of BJP, Keshav Dev Maurya said that his coming to SP can be a strategic move of BJP. “The SP candidates had become overconfident and hence did not work hard. There was overconfidence in all the SP candidates.” Blaming Swami Prasad Maurya for this, Keshav Dev said that he himself was in overconfidence and brought everyone into overconfidence. Keshav said that till Swami did not come, the Mahan Dal was being given importance, when Swami Prasad Maurya came, the SP leaders became overconfident and the Mahan Dal was sidelined.
It is noteworthy that Swami Prasad Maurya had joined the SP by resigning from the Yogi cabinet just before the elections. He made tall claims about the victory of SP. Akhilesh Yadav himself had told Swamy joining the party as a sign of victory. However, when Swami Prasad Maurya lost his seat from Fazilnagar, the SP alliance was reduced to 125 seats. Contrary to all the claims of the SP alliance, the BJP alliance won 273 seats.
