Beirut: There have been air strikes once again in Syria. A series of air strikes in eastern Syria on Tuesday killed more than a dozen people, including an Iranian military adviser and a member of a team working for the World Health Organization. Officials have given information about this. At present, nothing has been known about who was behind the air strikes in Deir al-Zour, Syria’s eastern province bordering Iraq. The attacks killed 15 people, including an Iranian adviser, two of his bodyguards, as well as nine Iraqi fighters and two Syrians from the Iran-backed group, and a Syrian engineer, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
Attack happened earlier also
It should also be mentioned here that recently the Israeli army had carried out air strikes on several targets in Syria at night. Many terrorist hideouts in Syria were destroyed in the air strikes by the Israeli army. The Israeli army carried out this attack simultaneously at several places in southern Syria. After the earlier attack, the Britain-based war monitoring organization ‘Syrian Observatory for Human Rights’ said that Israeli air strikes targeted two military bases located in the Kalmoun Mountains, northeast of Damascus. There was presence of Hezbollah fighters here. It was also feared that he might be killed in the attack.
The target was a consignment of weapons
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that a weapons shipment was targeted in the attacks. The British organization had said that this was Israel’s 24th attack in Syria in 2024. There was no statement from Israel regarding the attack. (AP)
