Ayodhya Seeing the immense potential for religious tourism in view of the consecration of Ram Temple, investors have signed various agreements for major investment in the hotel sector here. Official sources said that famous hotel companies are setting up their branches in Ayodhya. Currently around 50 major hotel construction projects are underway in the city. Ayodhya is emerging as a new center of hotel industry with investment in hotels, resorts and ‘homestays’. Apart from this, good highways and roads, paintings on the walls depicting the life of Lord Ram, decorations etc. are increasing the attraction of Ayodhya.
MoUs worth about Rs 18,000 crore for tourism
Ayodhya Divisional Commissioner Gaurav Dayal said that during the Global Investors Summit (GIS), 102 MoUs worth about Rs 18,000 crore were signed for tourism in Ayodhya. He said that even after GIS, many entrepreneurs have sent their proposals to the government and district administration to invest in the tourism sector in Ayodhya. At present, 126 projects related to tourism in Ayodhya are on the verge of completion. Of these, memoranda of understanding (MOUs) have been signed in 46, while 80 are non-MOUs. The total cost of all these 126 projects is around Rs 4,000 crore. Dayal said that about 50 famous hotel companies have invested in big projects in Ayodhya.
Many new investors ready to invest money
These include Taj, Marriott, Ginger, Oberoi, Trident and Radisson. The construction work will be completed soon. There are also plans to develop ‘Raja’s Building’ as a heritage hotel. A major hotel chain is interested in investing in the project. An investment of about Rs 420 crore is expected under four big projects in the hotel industry in Ayodhya. The first number in this list is ‘Panche Dreamworld LLP’, which will set up ‘O Rama Hotels and Resorts’ project at a total cost of Rs 140 crore.
