The country’s leading automaker Tata Motors launched Punch Micro-SUV in India in October this year, which is currently available in a single engine option. CNG-powered cars are gaining a lot of popularity in the Indian car market over the past few years due to the rising prices of petrol and diesel.
In such a situation, Tata Motors is planning to launch CNG versions of its cars soon, but we Indians are always in a hurry, today we have pictures of one such Tata Punch, in which Lovato CNG kit has been used.
According to media reports, the car’s owner, Ashish Sengar has shared online pictures of the CNG kit used in the punch. A nine kg CNG tank has been kept in its boot space, despite which there is enough space left to keep the spare wheel. However, using this to fold the rear seats will not be as practical as we expected.
The owner said that the CNG kits are great if you want to reduce the running cost, and the car gives a mileage of around 29 km/kg, and the kit costs around Rs 62,000. On the other hand, if your daily commute is long, or if you travel a lot in cities (not on highways), adding a CNG kit to your vehicle would be a better option.
Interestingly, while the Tata Punch is currently offered with a single engine, more engine options are expected to come with the Punch, including a 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit and a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol unit. Diesel unit included. The Punch Diesel was spotted testing a while back, and these new engine options are likely to be added to its range during 2022.
