new Delhi. A National Investigation Agency (NIA) court has framed charges under various sections of the UAPA against Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) founder Hafiz Saeed, Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin and others in connection with a terror funding case.
Charges against Yasin Malik, Shabir Shah, Masarat Alam, former MLA Rashid Engineer, businessman Zahoor Ahmed Shah Watali, Bitta Karate, Aftab Ahmed Shah, Avtar Ahmed Shah, Naeem Khan, Bashir Ahmed Bhat, alias Peer Saifullah and several other Kashmiri separatist leaders have been determined. Charges have been framed against them in relation to criminal conspiracy, waging war against the country and other illegal activities.
In the March 16 order, NIA Special Judge Praveen Singh said, “The above analysis shows that the statements of the witnesses and documentary evidence have almost all the accused with each other and with a common object of alienation, they have been arrested by the Pakistani establishment.” With their close links with terrorist/terrorist organizations under the guidance and funding of
Notably, the court has acquitted three others, Kamran Yusuf, Javed Ahmed Bhatt and Syed Asiya Firdous Andrabi.
The case pertains to various terrorist organizations backed by Islamic State, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), Hizbul-Mujahideen (HM), Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), which are targeting youth as terrorists.
