Peshawar: Three Pakistani security personnel were killed in a major attack by terrorists from Afghanistan on a border security post in Pakistan’s restive Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in the early hours of Monday. This information was given by security officials. This attack came a day after four security personnel were killed in two separate terror attacks in the same province. In the early hours of Monday, terrorists targeted a Pakistani border security post in Wara Mamund area of Bajaur district on the Pak-Afghan border in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province.
Terrorists attacked with heavy weapons
Three Pakistani security personnel were killed in the firing, sources said. They said the attack took place in Gardo sector. Earlier on Sunday, a policeman and a station house officer were killed after militants attacked Bargai police station with heavy weapons in the terror-hit southern Lakki Marwat district of the same KPK province. The policeman died on the spot while the injured station house officer succumbed to his injuries in a hospital. The militants had taken refuge in a house near the police station before the attack.
There was an attack here too
In another case, terrorists targeted vehicles of the ‘Frontier Constabulary’ in Maddi area of Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Sunday, killing at least two soldiers and injuring three others. Police said that the terrorists had ambushed the convoy of security forces. In the last two years since the Taliban-led government took control of Afghanistan, terrorist incidents have increased across Pakistan, especially in the troubled KPK province.
What did Pakistan say?
Pakistan has asked the Taliban-led interim Afghan government to ensure effective border management on its side and not allow terrorists to use Afghan soil to carry out terrorist activities against Pakistan. (Language)
