Priyanka seeks report on reasons for defeat

Congress General Secretary and UP in-charge Priyanka Gandhi has summoned a review report on the reasons for the defeat of the Congress in the UP assembly elections. In the review meeting held at the Congress headquarters on Monday, the candidates enumerated the reasons for their defeat. Only two Congress MLAs have reached this election.
National Secretaries Tauqir Alam, Pradeep Narwal, Rajesh Tiwari, Bajirao Khade and Satyanarayan Patel and State President Ajay Kumar Lallu held a meeting with the candidates and office bearers and inquired about the reasons for the defeat. Many candidates complained of non-support of the organization and non-help by local leaders. Most of the candidates attributed the election to a straight line between the two parties as the reason for the defeat of the Congress candidates. At the same time, the candidates were also asked which people helped them, how many did good work. Priyanka Gandhi will hold a meeting with all the National Secretaries, State President and Vice Presidents in Delhi on Tuesday.
Congress candidates have not been able to perform well in the elections. Only two MLAs have reached victorious. While four candidates have reached number two. There are 387 candidates whose deposits were forfeited, whereas in this election, Priyanka Gandhi did a new experiment under the campaign Ladki Hoon, Ladge Sakti Hoon and gave 40 percent tickets to women.
