The condition of coaching centres across the country is pathetic, major flaws were also found in the inspection of Khan Sir’s famous centre in Patna

New Delhi. After the deaths in Rajinder Nagar, Delhi, a nationwide investigation has started on the security and arrangements of coaching centers. In this sequence, the Bihar government has formed a special team to investigate the coaching institutes of Patna. Today, this team visited various coaching centers in Patna, with special attention to the coaching center of famous educationist Khan Sir. The investigation team is led by Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Shrikant Khandekar. The team inspected coaching centers located in areas like Musallahpur, Naya Tola and Bhikhana Pahari.

On reaching Khan Sir’s coaching centre, the investigation team checked the infrastructure and facilities there. The team found that more than 600 students study in the centre, but the condition of the classrooms is very poor. The roof is made of tin, the walls are unplastered, and are covered with thermocol, which causes severe heat inside. The students were discharged when the investigation team arrived, but the team found that fans and modern coolers have been arranged for teaching. Lack of security and facilities was also found in another coaching centre. The number of students in the classrooms was more than the capacity, due to which there was no space left to sit there. The students told that they are forced to write on their feet, because there is no arrangement of desks.

Patna DM had formed an investigation team this morning, in which responsibility was assigned to the officers at the subdivision level. The main objective of the investigation is to check the registration of coaching institutes, building bylaws, emergency gates, condition of entry and exit gates and preparation to deal with emergency situations. On the basis of this investigation, a detailed report will be prepared by the concerned officials, which can prove useful for improving the security and facilities of coaching institutes in future.
