Bookings closed by container in view of the possibility of ship being attacked or ship stuck in the middle of war, earlier booked orders are also being canceled
Due to the war going on between Russia and Ukraine, now gradually its effects are becoming visible. There has been a huge increase in the fare of containers going to the ports of Russia and Ukraine from many ports including Mumbai’s Nhavasheva, Mundra. Despite giving 6 thousand dollars, container booking is not taking place, due to which the exports who do business with Russia and Ukraine are full of goods in their godown.
According to Parthabhai Ganatra, Deputy Chief of Rajkot Chamber of Commerce, the import and export trade has suffered huge economic losses due to the war between the two countries. Efforts are being made to fulfill orders that came before the war. However, the shipping company has stopped booking due to the fear of the container getting stuck or attacked. Not only this, the booking which has already been done, that booking has also been cancelled. In such a situation, some exporters of Rajkot and Saurashtra have a large quantity of agri products, auto parts, railway parts, a consignment is ready, although export is not being done. Due to which the business has been closed.
At present, India imports sunflower and wood heavily from Ukraine. According to a trader associated with the business of shipping, 100 containers of pine wood from Ukraine arrive at Mundra Port every month. However, at this time everyone is hiding to save their lives. So the question of ordering does not arise.
Due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, the buildings have suffered a lot. In such a situation, after the completion of the war, there can be a lot of demand for ceramic products to erect these buildings again. Although India had supported Russia in the meeting of the National Council, due to which there is a possibility that most of the traders of Ukraine may turn to European countries for ceramic products. The same Russia can now trade with India in ruble or rupee to meet its needs due to restrictions imposed by many other countries including America. In such a situation, the importance of both rupee and ruble can increase in the coming time.
