Karachi/Noida: After several months, the first husband of Pakistani woman Seema Haider, who came to India illegally with four children in 2023 to live with her lover, has now increased the tension of the new couple. Seema Haider’s ex-husband has hired an Indian lawyer to help him get his children back. A top human rights activist gave this information in Karachi on Friday. Seema Haider, a resident of Jacobabad in Sindh province, left her home in Karachi in May last year with her children to go to India via Nepal.
Let us tell you that Seema came into limelight in July when officials got information about her living with Indian citizen (now her husband) Sachin Meena in Greater Noida area of Uttar Pradesh. It is being said that Seema is going to be the mother of Meena’s child. Top Pakistani lawyer and human rights activist Ansar Burney said that Seema’s Pakistani husband Ghulam Haider has approached him for help in getting custody of their four children. “After due process, we have engaged the services of an Indian lawyer, Ali Momin, and have sent a power of attorney to initiate legal proceedings in the Indian courts,” said Burney, who also runs a trust in his name. Which works for the recovery of missing and kidnapped children. He has also represented Indian prisoners lodged in Pakistani jails.
I was in love with Sachin while playing PUBG
Seema came into limelight when she said that she fell in love with Sachin Meena while playing the mobile game PUBG and decided to move in with him. When Seema came to India via UAE and Nepal, her husband worked in Saudi Arabia. In an interview with BBC, Seema said that she had converted to Hinduism and refused to return to Pakistan. Seema claims that her children have also adopted Hindu religion. Burney said Ghulam Haider’s case was strong and as per international laws, religious conversion of underage children is prohibited. He said, “The matter is very clear because even though Seema has now settled there, her children are Pakistani citizens and are of minor age, the father has full rights over them.
Seema’s ex-husband wants to take his children to Pakistan
Burney said that Ghulam Haider does not want anything from his wife but only wants to bring his children back to Pakistan. In India, Seema Haider and Sachin Meena’s legal representative, lawyer AP Singh, told PTI, “We are not aware of any such development. When we get to know about it officially, we will respond.” Weeks later in July 2023, the couple was detained for questioning. (Language)
