Azam Khan and Mohammad Hafeez
Mohammad Hafeez Azam Khan: In the T20 World Cup, Pakistan team batsman Azam Khan has been struggling with very poor form for some time and it has become difficult to score runs from his bat. He could not even open his account in the match against USA and got out. After this, he was shown the way out of the playing eleven against India. There has also been criticism about his fitness. Now former Pakistan Cricket Director Mohammad Hafeez has given a big statement on Azam Khan’s fitness.
Mohammad Hafeez said this
Mohammad Hafeez said that he told Azam Khan that if he wants to play for the Pakistani team, he will have to do two things. Firstly, he will have to remain physically fit. Secondly, he will also have to work on his wicketkeeping skills. Because of his current fitness, he cannot field.
Mohammad Hafeez said that he had given a complete plan of 6 weeks to Azam Khan and asked him to train accordingly. But when he came back, his body was the same as before. He takes a lot of time to run. If the players of the entire team take 10 minutes to run 2 kilometers, then Azam Khan takes 20 minutes. When I questioned him about this, he said that I have given my best. Whereas this is not a professional way. Even after this, he was given a chance in three matches, but his performance was not good. Then I gave the full report to the selectors. Azam Khan has so far scored only 88 runs in 14 T20I matches for Pakistan.
Poor performance in T20 World Cup
The Pakistani team has not been able to perform well in the T20 World Cup 2024. The team lost in the Super Over against the USA in its opening match. After this, it had to face defeat by 6 runs against India. There is a threat of the Pakistani team reaching the Super-8 as well. Pakistan’s bowlers and batsmen have not been able to perform well.
