Jhargram: Just before the Lok Sabha elections 2024, West Bengal Chief Minister and TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee has made a big attack on BJP. Mamata Banerjee claimed that if BJP returns to power at the Centre, the government will increase the price of LPG cylinder by Rs 2,000. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee was addressing a gathering at a government program in Jhargram district.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee said, ‘We distributed free rice… If they (BJP) win again, the price of gas can be increased by Rs 1500-2000. For cooking you will again have to collect cow dung and wood and go back to the old practice. This is the scenario of Delhi. He does not like West Bengal and tribal people.
He gave an ultimatum to the BJP-led central government to complete the construction of houses under the housing scheme by the end of April and claimed that otherwise his government would start construction from May. Earlier, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee had said on Tuesday that if the Center does not clear the ‘dues’ of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) by April 1, then her government will build 11 lakh houses for the poor of the state.
Mamata Banerjee targeted the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led central government for stopping funds from central schemes for the state. She was addressing the people present during a program. Mamata Banerjee said, ‘We will wait till April 1 and if the Center does not release funds for the housing scheme, our government will build 11 lakh houses for the beneficiaries. We will not beg from the Centre. The state government on Monday started making payments to MNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) workers whose ‘dues’ were pending with the Centre. Mamata Banerjee had said that her government will pay about 50 lakh MNREGA workers.
