New Delhi. In recent times, there have been several bomb threats targeting places like airports, schools and hospitals. The most recent threat has been made to Jyotirao Phule Praja Bhavan in Telangana. This building is the residence of Telangana Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. An unknown person called the police control room and claimed that a bomb has been planted in Praja Bhavan, which can explode anytime.
Following the threat, police teams launched a search operation at Praja Bhavan and Pragati Bhavan in Begumpet area. Special police units, including bomb squad, dog squad and Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) disaster response force, were deployed for the operation. However, the police did not find anything suspicious during their search. Investigation is currently underway. Praja Bhavan was the official residence of the Telangana Chief Minister till November during the tenure of Bharat Rashtra Samithi. After the Congress party came to power, the building became the official residence of Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. The Congress government is also using a part of the premises to receive petitions from the public.
Reacting to the incident, State Minister Sitakka said that many people visit Praja Bhavan to submit petitions regarding their issues. The premises are open to all, and there is no suspicion on any particular person. Recently, a bomb threat was received on an IndiGo flight from Delhi to Varanasi, due to which the plane was stopped on the runway and passengers were evacuated through emergency exits.
