Dr Sonia Rawat, Director, Preventive Health and Wellness Department, Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi, told AnyTV Nowadays the lifestyle and eating habits of the youth have deteriorated a lot. They stay awake till late night using their phones and laptops. Along with this, they consume a lot of junk food and do less physical activity than required. This is proving to be the biggest cause of diseases. To stay healthy, there is a need to correct wrong habits. Apart from this, getting checkups done from time to time can help in avoiding these problems.
These diseases are attacking the youth
Dr. Sonia Rawat said that in today’s era, youth are facing problems of high cholesterol, high blood pressure, high uric acid, diabetes and fatty liver. If cholesterol increases, it can cause heart attack and stroke. High blood pressure can also cause cardiovascular disease. If uric acid is high, it can cause kidney related diseases. Diabetes is a very dangerous disease, in which blood sugar increases and medicines have to be taken throughout life to control it. Apart from this, fatty liver increases the risk of liver diseases.
How to prevent these diseases
According to health experts, to avoid all these diseases, youth should exercise regularly. Only homemade healthy food should be eaten. Junk foods should be avoided. Smoking and alcohol should be completely avoided. The biggest thing is that youth should take as little stress as possible. Excessive stress can ruin mental health. Apart from this, full body checkup including cholesterol, BP, blood sugar, uric acid and liver should be done from time to time. This will detect diseases in time and it can be easily controlled through treatment.
