The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki is rapidly expanding its CNG vehicle portfolio in the domestic market. The company had recently launched a new CNG variant of its famous hatchback car Maruti Celerio, now Maruti is preparing to introduce its hatchback car Swift to compact SUV Brezza with new company fitted CNG kits. Maruti Dzire:
Maruti Dzire has been the most popular in the sub-four meter compact sedan segment. In the initial days, this car was available with the option of petrol as well as diesel engine. But from April 2020, the company announced to discontinue the diesel engine and its effect was also seen on the sales of vehicles. According to the report, the company is now preparing to introduce a new CNG variant of the Dzire sedan car. Recently this car has also been spotted during testing. This car will compete with Hyundai Aura in the market.

Maruti Baleno:
The company is also going to offer Maruti Suzuki’s premium hatchback car Baleno with a fitted CNG kit. This is one of the best selling cars sold by the company. The 1.2-litre petrol engine has been used in this car, which generates 90PS of power, although the power output of the CNG variant may be slightly lower. Information about this will be available only at the time of launch of the car.
Maruti Vitara Brezza:
Along with hatchback cars, the company will also offer its compact SUV Maruti Brezza with CNG kit. This will be seen as a major change in the SUV market. While the SUV segment has been dependent on diesel and petrol engines, it will now include a CNG kit as well. The company has used a 1.5-litre petrol engine in this car, which is also seen in the Ertiga. Let us inform that, Ertiga is already available for sale in the market with CNG kit and this car is performing tremendously. The company claims that the Ertiga gives a normal mileage of up to 26 km/kg.
Maruti Ciaz:
The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is an executive class sedan car, and the car is also very popular among the premium range customers. Initially, this car has also been available with a diesel engine, but at present this car comes only with a petrol engine. According to media reports, the company will soon introduce Ciaz in the market in CNG variants, and this car will also have a 1.5 liter petrol engine.

In the last few days, due to the rising prices of petrol and diesel, automakers have started focusing on CNG. Recently, Tata Motors has introduced its famous cars Tiago and Tigor in the market in new CNG variants. Till now, Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai have dominated the CNG segment, but now with the entry of new players, the competition seems to be getting tougher.
