At present, the world’s biggest election i.e. Lok Sabha elections 2024 is being organized in India. Thousands of candidates have filed their nominations in this election for a total of 543 parliamentary seats. Some of these candidates have little to no wealth, while many are billionaires. In this sequence, BJP candidate from Chevella Lok Sabha seat of Telangana, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy has declared his family property. K Vishweshwar Reddy has total family assets worth Rs 4568 crore.
Property in the name of wife and son also
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy on Monday filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha constituency and has disclosed his movable and immovable assets in the election affidavit. According to Reddy’s affidavit, he has assets worth Rs 1250 crore while his wife Sangeeta Reddy has assets worth Rs 3209.41 crore and the remaining assets are in the name of their son.
What is the basis of property?
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy has stated in his affidavit that he holds 17.77 lakh shares of Apollo Hospital Enterprises Limited. The price of these shares at Rs 6170 per share is Rs 973.22 crore. Whereas, his wife Sangeeta Reddy holds 24.32 lakh shares worth Rs 1500.85 crore. Sangeeta Reddy is the joint managing director of Apollo Hospitals Group which was founded by her father Dr C Prathap Reddy.
Konda has also been in BRS and Congress
Konda Vishweshwar Reddy completed his graduation in Electrical Engineering from Madras University and pursued MS in USA. Reddy started his political career with Chandrashekhar Rao’s BRS (formerly TRS). He also became MP from Chevella seat. However, he later joined Congress and contested the Lok Sabha elections in 2019. He was defeated in this election. After this he joined BJP. (input language)
