The country’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki recently launched the next generation model of its famous car Celerio in the domestic market. This affordable car has created a buzz as soon as it comes in the market. According to the latest information, the company has booked more than 15,000 units so far.
The company started the sale of this car on November 10 and its official booking from November 2. In his statement to the media, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing and Sales) of the company said that, “So far the company has registered bookings of more than 15,000 units for the new Celerio, which is the average for the old Celerio every month. It was only 5,000 to 6,000 units.
Will have to wait for delivery:
The company has presented the new Celerio as a very affordable hatchback. The company claims that this is the country’s highest mileage petrol car. Due to the high demand, the waiting period of this car has reached almost 12 weeks. Although it will differ on different variants. The lack of component and semi-conductor chip is also a major reason behind the high waiting period.
Equipped with a very attractive look and new technology, the starting price of this car has been fixed at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company has made many major changes in this car, which make it better than the previous model. This car has been built on the company’s fifth-generation Heartect platform. It gets a host of great safety features including dual front airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, segment-first hill-hold assist, etc. The car has been introduced with a total of 6 colours, including two new colors – Fire Red and Speedy Blue.
The company is using a 1.2-litre capacity K12N petrol engine in this car which is equipped with DualJet, Dual VVT technology. This engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual and automatic gearbox and generates 65hp power and 89Nm torque. Equipped with the new K-Series petrol engine and improved technology, this car gives a mileage of about 26.68 kmpl.
