Highest Vitamin B12 Food: To keep our body healthy, a lot of nutrients like vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, fats etc. are required. Actually, our food provides many types of nutrition to us naturally. But there is one vitamin which we have to supply to our body every day. We are talking about Vitamin B12, which is also called cobalamin. Vitamin B12 is responsible for the formation of red blood cells in the body, DNA synthesis and proper functioning of the nervous system. Weakness in nerves is also due to this vitamin. According to Delhi’s famous nutritionist Dr. Kavita Devgan, the deficiency of this vitamin is becoming more prevalent in the last few years and the reason behind it is our changed food habits.
The body needs vitamin B12 every day
Dr. Kavita Devgan tells that understand it in this way that our body requires many vitamins and minerals. But even if we do not take those vitamins for 1 or 2 days, they still remain stored in our body. But B12 is a vitamin which dissolves in water and goes out of our body. That means it is very important for your body to take this vitamin every day. Deficiency of Vitamin B12 makes the body hollow from inside.
Most B12 is found in non-veg food
According to the National Institute of Health Vitamin B12 is found most in the liver of animals. According to the report, about 85 grams (3 ounces) of animal liver contains 70.7 mg of vitamin B12. This is 35 times more than the 2.6 mg found in fish. Apart from this, egg is also a good source of B12. Dr. Kavita Devgan tells that for people who are vegetarian, it is a little difficult for them that this vitamin is not found in fruits or vegetables. The sources of Vitamin B12 are mostly non-veg. Therefore its deficiency is seen in vegetarians. But deficiency of this vitamin is also seen in non-vegetarians. The reason for this is that even the non-vegetarians in our country do not eat non-veg every day. That is why there is a huge shortage of it.
These are sources for vegetarians
B12 is also found in some vegetarian foods. As Vitamin B12 is found to some extent in dairy products. Apart from this, Vitamin B12 is also found in fermented food. You get Vitamin B12 in sprouts, kanji, rise water etc. Talking about fermented food, in olden times some things were made by keeping pulses or rice overnight and fermenting it. These were a good source of B12. But nowadays we have started making it instant by adding soda, so we do not get B12 vitamin from it. Dr. Kavita Devgan tells that for you to digest the source of Vitamin B12, the most important thing is your gut health.
