Jerusalem: The war between ISIS and Israel continues and at the moment there is no sign of it stopping. Meanwhile, terrorist organization Hamas has rejected the new ceasefire proposal, accusing it of ignoring its major demands. The resolution calls for an end to the war and a complete withdrawal of troops from Gaza. Terror organization Hamas said in a statement late on Monday that it had informed mediators that it stood by its original position, which was stated in early March.
Israel did not respond
Hamas has said that Israel has not responded to its basic demands of ‘a comprehensive ceasefire, withdrawal (of Israeli troops) from the Gaza Strip, return of displaced people and exchange of actual prisoners’.
Rift between Israel and America
Shortly before Hamas’s statement, the United Nations Security Council had approved a resolution calling for the release of all those held captive in Gaza and an immediate ceasefire. The voting in this regard has led to a standoff between Israel and America. America decided not to use its ‘veto’ right in the voting on Monday. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu canceled a planned visit to Washington by a high-level delegation. Netanyahu has rejected Hamas’s demands.
Hamas terrorists had attacked
It is noteworthy that, despite all the warnings, Israel is working on a plan to launch a ground attack in Rafah. More than half of Gaza’s population has taken refuge there. Hamas terrorists had attacked southern Israel on October 7 last year, in which about 1,200 people were killed and 250 people were abducted. The death toll in Gaza is said to be around 32,000. The war between Israel and Hamas continues since the terrorist attack. (AP)
