New Delhi. The schedule of the Test series to be played between India and Australia has been released. Cricket Australia announced the dates and venues of all the matches of the domestic season on Tuesday. The Indian team has to tour Australia later this year. For the first time in the history of Border Gavaskar Trophy, 5 matches will be played between the two teams. Team India will also have to play a day-night test match on this tour.
Team India has to tour Australia in November this year. The first match on this almost 2 month long tour is to be played from 22nd November. The responsibility of hosting this test match has been given to Perth, which is considered the most dangerous pitch in the world. The second match of the Test series will be played at Adelaide Oval. This match will be special because it will be day night i.e. pink ball test. The third Test match will start from December 14, which will be hosted in Brisbane. The fourth test will be played in Melbourne on 26 December i.e. Boxing Day. The last match of the series will start in Sydney on New Year from 3rd January.
32 years of history changed
After 32 years in the history of the Test series played between India and Australia, both the teams will play 5 matches instead of 4. Earlier in 1991-92, a 5-match Test series was played between India and Australia. This series was played in Australia where the Indian team was defeated 1-4.
