befitting reply to critics
When the third day’s play started, India were chasing 318 runs. On the second ball of the day, Boland gave the sixth blow by dismissing Shrikar Bharat, but Ajinkya Rahane and Shardul Thakur made a brilliant century partnership for the seventh wicket. Ajinkya Rahan has once again proved that he has all the three physical, mental and technical qualities. After being out of Team India for almost two years, facing insults, taunts, this Mumbai batsman proved himself in IPL and won the World Test Championship.
BCCI out of central contract
Ajinkya Rahane was not selected in the team for the Border Gavaskar Trophy played against Australia in February-March 2023. BCCI evicted this experienced player from his annual contract. After this, in the Indian Premier League in May 2023, Rahane scored 326 runs for Chennai Super Kings at a strike rate of 176. He wins the IPL and returns to Team India in June 2023. Scores half-centuries in adverse conditions and gives India another chance to come back in the match.
