Peshawar: Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Pakistan. Heavy damage has been reported in many areas due to rain. Meanwhile, at least 11 members of a family, including six children, died on Tuesday in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of north-west Pakistan when water entered the basement of the house during torrential rains. Officials have given information about this. Officials said that this incident took place in Darra Adam of Khel Tehsil in Kohat district, 35 km south of Peshawar.

The accident happened because of this

The provincial disaster management agency said rainwater entered the basement of the house, trapping the family there. As a result, six children, three women and two men died. Rescue teams rushed to the spot and retrieved the bodies from the basement, rescue officials said. The bodies were later shifted to a hospital in Kohat. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur expressed deep grief over the deaths.

Meanwhile, the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) on Monday warned that monsoon from the Bay of Bengal may enter central and southern parts of Pakistan, causing heavy rainfall in the catchment areas of rivers, reports Dawn News.
