Toyota Kirloskar Motor has today introduced the much awaited Toyota Hilux pickup truck in India. Let us tell you, Hilux is the first lifestyle pickup truck of the Japanese car brand in the country, which will be launched in the country in March 2022. The special thing about this truck is that it has been built on the same platform as the Toyota Fortuner SUV.
The Toyota Hilux will be available in India in two trims – Low and High. For which the booking has officially started from today. If you want to book this pickup truck, then you can book it with an amount of Rs 1 lakh, while its delivery will start from March. For information, let us tell you that the Toyota Hilux will be assembled in India with the SKD kit at Toyota’s plant in Karnataka.
What’s the update on the design and interiors?
The Toyota Hilux sports an attractive front styling with muscular bumpers, hexagonal-shaped grille with thick chrome lining, silver skid plate, LED projector headlamps with integrated LED daytime running lights to add to its appeal. Apart from this, the double-cab pickup truck gets a Toyota Fortuner-inspired cabin with multi-spoke alloy wheels, vertically stacked taillights, touchscreen infotainment system with eight-inch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, soft-touch It is equipped with features like leather upholstery, driver armrest with storage, dual-zone automatic climate control.

engine options
As we mentioned earlier, the Hilux is built on the IMV ladder-frame chassis, which also underpins the Innova Crysta and Fortuner. The Hilux is powered by a Fortuner-sourced 2.8-litre four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine that produces 204hp of power and 420Nm of torque. However, this pickup generates torque of up to 500Nm on an automatic gearbox. Like the Fortuner, transmission options on the Hilux include a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter automatic gearbox.
