India recalls relatives of embassy personnel in Ukraine
Amidst the ongoing tension between Russia and Ukraine, the Indian government has asked the families of the employees working in the Indian Embassy in Kiev to return home. Sources gave this information on Sunday. The Indian Embassy in Kiev also issued a statement again on Sunday, saying, “In view of the high level of tension and uncertainty in Ukraine, all Indian nationals whose presence is not required and all Indian students are advised to leave Ukraine temporarily.” Is given.’
The embassy said that travel can be done by commercial and chartered flights available from Ukraine for orderly and timely departure. According to the statement, “Indian students are also advised to keep in touch with the respective student contractors for the latest updates on chartered flights.” Also, keep checking the Embassy website, Facebook account and Twitter account for any latest updates.
Recall that the Indian Embassy had issued a similar advisory for Indian citizens and students living in Ukraine at the beginning of the week. According to sources, the government has no plans to send special aircraft to bring back the family members of the Indian Embassy personnel in Ukraine so far. The reason for this is that Air India is operating flights from there on February 22, 24 and 26. It is known that according to the official document of 2020, there is a small, but lively Indian community in Ukraine. Also there are about 18 thousand Indian students studying there.
