The Russian army is wreaking havoc in Ukraine in a dangerous way. In such a situation, there has been increased concern about the safety of citizens of other countries trapped there. Now this matter is being taken seriously in India also. Expressing concern over the same issue, a lawyer has raised the issue of Indian students stranded in Ukraine in the Supreme Court and demanded the evacuation of Indian students at the earliest. While responding to this petition, CJI N V Ramana said that we have sympathy for the students but the court cannot do anything in this. We cannot order Putin to stop the war. The government is taking necessary steps. We will ask the Attorney General what more can be done?
