Amethi, Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Chitrakoot, Bahraich, Shravasti, Barabanki, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Kaushambi and Gonda are the districts of Awadh and Purvanchal that will go to polls on February 27. This part of the state is considered a strong stronghold of the BJP. In 2017, the BJP won 47 seats and its ally Apna Dal won three seats. Five seats went to BSP, three to SP and one seat to Congress.
The reputation of these prominent faces is at stake
The reputation of ministers like Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, Cabinet Minister Siddharthnath Singh from Allahabad West, Nand Gopal Nandi from Allahabad South, Moti Singh from Patti seat of Pratapgarh are at stake. Former ministers Awadhesh Prasad, Tejnarayan Pandey alias Pawan Pandey, Raghuraj Pratap Singh from Kunda are the main ones.
