New Delhi. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has asked state officials to introduce a state-level ranking framework for educational institutions on the lines of the National Institutional Ranking Framework for “Healthy Competition”. He has ordered the officials to prepare a new sports policy of the state with the cooperation of the players. CM said, “SIRF should be started on the lines of NIRF. This scheme will promote a healthy competition among the institutions as well as help everyone in the efforts for improvement. This will not only help the students in getting admission but will also help the placement agencies in the selection of the institutes.” NIRF was launched in 2015 by the Union Ministry of Education (Central Human Resource Development) as a framework to rank education institutions across the country. Yogi Adityanath also presented an action plan for education in front of the state ministers and instructed them that, ‘A new sports policy should be prepared for the state at the earliest and for this the help of sports professionals should be taken.’
He further said that ‘the education sector was in the grip of “education mafia” for a long time, but his government ensured “cheating free” examinations. Emphasizing on preparing “skilled youth” keeping in mind the market needs, he said that new subjects like drone technology, internet, cyber security and data science should also be added to this curriculum. CM Adityanath asked officials to expedite the work of Major Dhyanchand Sports University in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut city and appoint an “eminent sportsperson” as the vice-chancellor there. Apart from this, he directed the officials to set up career counseling cells in every institute, cashless treatment facility to government school teachers and ensure money for uniforms and other essential items to the students in the form of direct cash transfer in the next six months.
Not only this, the CM also ordered to prepare a plan for the establishment of an international pharmacy, a bio-engineering research institute and a school of urban management. Yogi Adityanath also considered preparing a new pattern for class 12th examinations under the state board by 2025 and for class 10th by 2023. Apart from this, the CM also favored the introduction of internships for class 9 and class 11 students under skilled professionals.
