Voting has been completed for the assembly elections in five states including Uttar Pradesh. The counting of votes is going on today (March 10) and the results will be out soon. The states where elections were held include Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Uttarakhand, Manipur and Goa. Of these, Uttar Pradesh remains the center of most discussion.

Rupali Dixit of Samajwadi Party Rupali Dixit contested from Fatehabad assembly seat of Agra on Samajwadi Party (SP) ticket. At present, Rupali, daughter of Bahubali Ashok Dixit, who is in jail, has been educated in London. She was also working in London but returned to Agra after her father was sentenced.
Chole Lal Verma of BJP is on top with 21,927 votes in this seat till the counting of votes till 9.50 am. BSP candidate Shailendra Singh is second with 9408 votes. Rupali Dixit is in third place, in whose account 8148 votes have been received so far.
Congress party candidate Manish SinghCongress party has fielded Dr. Manish Singh from Rae Bareli Sadar seat. Manish Singh has completed his Master of Medicine from Scotland. Apart from providing his services abroad, he has also worked in many famous hospitals in India. In 2004, Singh established Simhans Hospital in Rae Bareli.
Aditi Singh is leading with 20,960 votes in this seat till the counting of votes till 9.45 am. Ram Pratap Yadav of SP is second with 14,405 votes. Manish Singh is on the third position, who has got only 1809 votes so far.
Kunal Yadav from Rashtriya Parivartan Dal
Kunal Yadav’s name is also one of the candidates who are in the fray for the Sahaswan assembly seat of Badaun. Kunal, son of Bahubali and well-known leader of western UP, DP Yadav, has taken BBA degree from London University. In this election, he is contesting on the ticket of his father’s Rashtriya Parivartan Dal.
Prateek Pandey on BSP ticketThe Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has fielded Prateek Pandey as its candidate from the Katehri assembly seat of Ambedkar Nagar. Prateek, who holds an LLM degree from Melbourne University, Australia, is the son of former MLA Pawan Pandey. He has entered the electoral fray to take over the political legacy of his father.
According to the counting of votes for Katehri assembly seat till 9.52 am, SP candidate Lalji Verma is leading with 9336 votes. Nirbal Indian Shoshit Hamara Aam Dal candidate Awadhesh Kumar is second with 7399 votes. In third place is Prateek Pandey, whose account has got 6272 votes so far.
