Lucknow. The deep ties between Sri Lanka and Ayodhya, which have been going on since Tretayuga, are once again going to reach a new height. Sri Lankan High Commissioner Ashok Milinda Moragoda met Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at his official residence on Wednesday. During this, he presented the stone of Ashok Vatika located in Sri Lanka to the Chief Minister. Also presented two paintings to the CM to be installed at Varanasi airport.
Cultural relations and promotion of tourism between the two countries were particularly discussed during the long talks between the Chief Minister and the Sri Lankan High Commissioner. During this, a detailed discussion was held on developing various places related to the Ramayana period in Sri Lanka, so that the citizens of India and especially Uttar Pradesh can get an opportunity to visit the Ramayana sites present in Sri Lanka. Along with this, the Chief Minister has also been asked to plant Sanjivani Booti plants from Sri Lanka on a large scale in UP.
Ashok Milinda Moragoda appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath for the unprecedented development works done in Uttar Pradesh in recent years. He said that there have been cordial relations between Sri Lanka and UP since the Ramayana period. This dialogue will prove to be very important in the direction of greater cooperation in the field of cultural and tourism between the two countries. Ashok Milinda Moragoda is the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to India since 2020.
