Moradabad. Samajwadi Party MLA Kamal Akhtar, who was a minister in Akhilesh Yadav’s government, reached the police line to defend the people arrested in the stone pelting case in Moradabad, UP on Friday. Earlier, Kamal Akhtar took all the women with him to the district hospital during the medical of the accused of nuisance. There the police did not give them a chance, so they reached the police line with some of their companions. There, a circle officer of the police, CO reprimanded Kamal and showed him the way out. The incident happened in front of the media present in the police line.
When Kamal Akhtar reached the police lines, there were no women with him. Some people did go along. The accused were kept here after getting medical. When Kamal started going inside with his comrades, the CO of Kotwali area reached Mahesh Chandra from behind. Mahesh Chandra told the MLA and his colleagues to immediately go out of the police line. Otherwise I have more places to sit. I have already put many people (militants) here. A person who went with Kamal on this honesty of CO, understanding the urgency of the occasion, gestured him to walk out. After which Kamal came out.
On Friday, like many districts of UP, in Moradabad too, after the Friday prayers, the crowd took to the road. Nupur Sharma’s beheading was raised at Jama Masjid crossroads by a furious mob and there was a nuisance. After which the police dispersed the crowd by lathi-charge and later arrested 25 people. A case is registered against 10 named and several dozen unknowns in this case. Due to security reasons, the police is not allowing anyone to meet them all. Even the accused were produced at the magistrate’s residence instead of the court. After which all have been sent to jail.
