Indian Railways has increased the limit of tickets to be booked online under the new decision. Passengers can now book double tickets in a month through IRCTC website and app. If your Aadhaar is linked with IRCTC account then you can book 24 tickets. On the other hand, in case of non-linking of account and Aadhaar, now you will be able to book 12 tickets. Earlier these numbers were 12 and 6 respectively. Keep in mind that to avail this facility of online ticket booking, the Aadhaar number of at least one passenger should be verified. First of all go to IRCTC official e-ticketing website www.irctc.co.in after that enter your User ID and Password then go to my profile tab and click on Aadhaar KYC Now enter your Aadhaar Number and select Send OTP option . After this you will get an OTP on your mobile number. After entering the OTP, click on the Verify option. After verification, KYC details will be displayed on your screen. Tap on the submit button to start the process of KYC verification, after which your Aadhaar will be verified.
How to add a passenger with Aadhaar Number
Go to IRCTC’s official e-ticketing website www.irctc.co.in Enter your User ID and Password, then go to Profile section and click on Master List Now enter the details of new passengers like Aadhaar Number, Gender, Date of Birth as per Aadhaar Card. Tap on submit option
Once this process is completed, all the new passengers will appear in the Master List with Pending Status. After verification, this status will start showing Verified automatically. It is worth noting that no OTP verification is required for this process. Along with this, the passengers who are already present in the masterlist can be verified by going to the Edit option.
While booking the ticket, you select the ‘Aadhaar-verified passenger’ passenger from the masterlist. And then complete the further ticket booking process.
