Let us inform that earlier Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami had taken a big decision regarding Uniform Civil Code. CM Dhami decided to form a committee to implement the Uniform Civil Code. A committee will be formed under the chairmanship of a retired judge of the Supreme Court or High Court.
Know, what is Uniform Civil Code-
There is a provision in the Uniform Civil Code that people of all religions have to comply with the same law. After the implementation of the Uniform Civil Code, the rules of any particular religion will not be given priority. All will be bound to abide by the rules made by the government. For example, Shariat will not be given much preference in the Muslim religion. People of all religions will be bound to follow one law in marriage, divorce and division of property.
