Lucknow. The Yogi government of UP has sought a report from the police of all the districts about illegal loudspeakers installed at religious places. The report will have to tell how many such religious places are there and in how many of them the loudspeakers were removed. This report has been sought by UP’s Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Avnish Kumar Awasthi. By April 30, the police of all the districts will have to submit this report. Along with this, in addition to the police chiefs of the respective districts, warning of action at the police station level has also been given in the order for not reporting or not taking steps in this matter. Before the issuance of this order, the UP Police had told that 125 loudspeakers have been removed from such religious places and the voice of 17000 speakers has been reduced.
On Monday itself, UP’s ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar had informed the media about this. He had told that the orders of the High Court and the Supreme Court are being followed to prevent noise pollution. Prashant Kumar had also told that the police is also making special arrangements in sensitive districts for the goodbye prayers to be held next Friday. Apart from the deployment of a large number of police forces in these areas, strict vigil is being kept on those trying to disturb the atmosphere.
In the past, CM Yogi Adityanath had given orders regarding illegal loudspeakers and mics at religious places. He had said that permission has to be taken to play loudspeakers. Also the sound of approved loudspeakers should be restricted to the premises where they are installed. This should not cause inconvenience to others. Yogi had also ordered that now the administration should not allow loudspeakers to be installed in any new place. Let us tell you that in many parts of the country, the atmosphere regarding loudspeakers is hot and political parties are baking rotis fiercely on this issue.
