Student groups came face to face in BHU for the second time in 48 hours. There was heavy stone pelting between the two groups at Birla Crossroads at around 7.30 pm on Thursday. On the information of stone pelting between the students of Birla A and the Department of Physical Education, the security personnel of the university reached the spot but did not muster the courage to move forward.
Chief Proctor Prof. On the information of BC Kapri, the district administration and police intervened in the matter. The top officers of the district police arrived with heavy force at around 8.15 pm.
Despite repeated announcements by the force, the student groups were not ready to return to the hostels. Keep throwing stones. On this, the police chased the students inside the hostel with sticks, but as soon as the force retreated a little, the students would again come out of the hostels.
More forces had to be called in to control the furious students. On seeing the force of eight police stations along with a contingent of PAC reached Birla crossroads. By the time the news was written at 10 pm, several top police officers including ACP Bhelupur and SDP Kashi Zone Rajesh Pandey had laid siege to the hostel.
Traffic on this route was closed. After this the force forced the students to return to the hostel with the help of sticks. Force is deployed on the spot and the situation is tense.
There was a fight on the night of 29
The stone-pelting between the two student groups is believed to be the reason behind the fight in Birla A and Birla C hostels on the night of March 29. Police officers and officials of the Proctorial Board are engaged in controlling the matter. As of now, no one has refused to comment on the incident.
