New Delhi. President Ram Nath Kovind said that there can be no harmony without having compassion for the weaker sections of the society and serving the helpless. To increase social harmony, Sant Kabir laid constant emphasis on compassion for the weak and service of the helpless. His whole life was giving the message of communal unity. Today the existence of his tomb and tomb in the same premises is a rare example of communal unity. President Mr. Kovind, along with Governor Mrs. Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was addressing a program organized here on Sunday morning after paying obeisance at Sant Kabir’s Samadhi, located in the Kabir Chaura complex of Magar. On this occasion, he also inaugurated Sant Kabir Academy and Research Institute and Interpretation Center.
In his address, the President said that Sant Kabir had come to Magahar from Kashi to break the superstition that death in Kashi leads to heaven and death in Magahar leads to hell. It seems as if he had come to Magahar to save the lives of the famine-stricken people. Sant Kabir was a true Pir. ‘Kabir soi is a pir who is a pir when he goes.’
He said that Sant Kabir did not make his deprivations a weakness but a strength. He used to do cloth weaving. Weaving a good cloth requires a lot of care and attention from the spinning of the yarn, from the dyeing to the preparation of the warp. To bring harmony in the divided society at that time, Sant Kabir did fine spinning of social interaction, dyed it beautifully with the color of knowledge, created a strong fabric of unity and coordination and weaved the sheet of building a harmonious society. He covered this sheet very carefully and never allowed it to become dirty. It is said, ‘Das Kabir Jatan te odhi, jiun ki tyun jyon dhar dini chadariya.’
Kabir’s teachings are popular among intellectuals and common man alike.
The President said that Sant Kabir showed the path of equality and harmony. Even in household life and continued to live life like saints. He was deprived of bookish knowledge, but the teachings propounded by him with the knowledge and experience of the sage company are popular among the common man and intellectuals alike even after 600 years. His time was the time of the invasion of the invaders. In such a situation, to give the message of love and friendship, he had a direct dialogue between the people. Sometimes typical words were also used which was very important according to the circumstances of the time. Sant Kabir first awakened the society and then warned.
The barren land blossomed with the arrival of Kabir
The President said that it has been our belief that the arrival of saints purifies the earth. For a time, the land of Magahar, which was barren, barren and cursed, also blossomed with the arrival of Saint Kabir. It is said that a Siddha of Nathpeeth came here on the invitation of Sant Kabir. Due to his influence, the pond here was filled with water. Ami river flows from Gorkhatlaiya.
The country has always been ready for improvement
The President said that this country has always been ready to improve itself. For this reason, when the name of the big civilizations in the world has been erased, India is standing firmly on its feet with the inexhaustible heritage of thousands of years.
it’s hard to be comfortable
Describing Sant Kabir as a great and easy-going saint, the President said that it is indeed very difficult to be comfortable. Attachment does not give up easily. Sant Kabir very simply gave this message that heaven or hell does not come from a particular place. Rather it depends on our conduct. He believed that when God is present in every particle, why should we seek him outside.
Extremely happy to come to the holy land of Kabir
Starting his speech with the speech of Saheb Bandgi, the President said that today he is very happy to come to the holy land of Kabir Saheb. He said that in public life, he has been getting the opportunity to visit the places associated with Sant Kabir and participate in the celebrations organized in the memory of Sant Kabir in different parts of the country. He said that in the year 2003, the then President Dr APJ Abdul Kalam had visited the samadhi of Sant Kabir. Four years ago, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had laid the foundation stone of many development works including Sant Kabir Academy along with visiting here. He is very happy to dedicate those works today.
President, Governor and Chief Minister planted saplings near Kabir’s Samadhi
On arrival at Kabir Math, Maghar, President Ram Nath Kovind, State Governor Smt. Anandiben Patel and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also planted saplings near the samadhi after having darshan and worship of Sant Kabir. Incidentally, World Environment Day was also celebrated on Sunday itself. On this occasion, the President said that a few years ago he had brought Bodhi tree from Bodh Gaya and planted it in the Rashtrapati Bhavan complex. Today that plant has grown. He hopes that the saplings planted by him, the Governor and the Chief Minister on the land of Sant Kabir will provide shade and coolness to the people who come here later.
Appreciate CM Yogi openly by congratulating him on his birthday
During his address, President Ram Nath Kovind congratulated Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on his birthday and appreciated his work with a free voice. He hopes that this state will continue to move forward on the path of development and harmony. On this occasion, he also appreciated the Governor Anandiben Patel, who was engaged in the campaign of equality and harmony, following the path shown by Sant Kabir.
His Excellency inaugurated Sant Kabir Academy and Interpretation Center
President Ram Nath Kovind, during the program organized in Maghar, by pressing the button from the stage, the great social reformer Sant Kabir’s sadhana and Nirvana Sthal in Maghar, Sant Kabir Academy and Research Institute built at a cost of Rs 31.49 crore, Interpretation costing Rs 17.61 crore under Swadesh Darshan Scheme Center inaugurated. On this occasion the beautification works of Kabir Nirvana Sthali done at a cost of Rs 37.66 lakh were also inaugurated.
ODOP’s branding strengthened by the memento given to the President
On the President’s arrival at Maghar, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath felicitated him and presented him with a hand-woven angavastra. The couplets of Sant Kebir have been inscribed on this angavastra. Apart from this, His Excellency was also presented with mementos related to the brassware industry of Bakhira covered under ODOP. This gift to the President has further strengthened the branding of ODOP of Sant Kabirnagar.
Tourism development work will continue in Maghar even further: CM Yogi Adityanath
Welcoming the President and the Governor in a program organized on Kabir Dhara, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that today many works are being inaugurated at the Parinirvana Sthal of Sant Kabir from the lotus feet of the President. Under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the work of tourism development will continue in Magahar with regard to basic facilities, convenience of pilgrims and employment generation.
CM Yogi said that it is a matter of good fortune that His Excellency the President is the son of Uttar Pradesh only. Nothing is hidden about Uttar Pradesh from them. The biggest strength of India’s democracy is to guide the country from a normal village and a normal family to the highest constitutional post of the country. The Chief Minister said that with the establishment of Sant Kabir Academy in Maghar, research on literature like Kabir’s Sakhi, Bijak etc. would get a boost. Research scholars will get scholarship as well as residential facility. He said that many works are going on under the leadership of PM Modi for the identification and beautification of many places of the country. In this sequence, Swadesh Darshan is an ambitious plan for tourism development. With the development of Shri Ram, Shri Krishna, Buddha, spiritual circuit, better infrastructure facilities are being provided and employment opportunities are also increasing. He said that on December 13, 2021, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the grand and divine Dham of Baba Vishwanath in Kashi, where Saint Kabir was born. Today more than one lakh devotees are reaching there every day. This has given rise to many employment opportunities. Ayodhya and Kushinagar are also developing on the same lines. The Minister said that the works of tourism development in Magar have been done earlier and are still being done and will continue to do so.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on the Amrit Mahotsav year of independence that we have to set a target for the next 25 years and every citizen will have to connect with these goals. With the quote ‘Kal kare so aaj kar, aaj kare so ab’, he inspired people to avoid procrastination and contribute towards progressing the society, state and country while moving ahead on the path of action.
CM appealed for plantation and water conservation
During his address, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appealed to the people to plant more and more trees and conserve water on the occasion of World Environment Day today. He said that today we are on the land of Sant Kabir. Protesting orthodoxy, Sant Kabir came to Magahar and converted what was considered hell to heaven with his thoughts and teachings. Our sages and saints have always inspired us. He said that 5 years ago Aami river in Maghar was very polluted. The water smelled bad and its color had turned black. Today, due to the systematic efforts of the government, the Ami river has become pollution free. Its water is clear. He said that earlier in the villages situated on both the sides of Aami river, livestock was destroyed due to polluted water, agriculture was destroyed. But today this situation has changed. If the livestock is improved then the farmer is happy. The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the resolution of Amrit Sarovar in the Amrit Mahotsav year of independence. We have to take a pledge that as today Aami has become unbroken and pure. Similarly, we have to develop the Amrit Sarovar of our village like a pilgrimage site by making it free from encroachment and garbage. We have to remember that if there is water, there is tomorrow. While requesting to plant more and more trees, he said that our sages had established an intimate dialogue with the trees by associating the trees with the gods and goddesses. Today, on World Environment Day, we need to face this once again.
