In this test match played at Multan Cricket Stadium, Sehwag had thrashed Pakistani bowlers fiercely. He became the first Indian to score a triple century in Test. Veeru completes triple century by hitting a six
Virender Sehwag completed his triple century in his own style. He completed his triple century by hitting a big six off Saqlain Mushtaq. When he was batting on 295 runs, he scored a historic triple century by hitting a six. With this, he also became the Indian to score the highest score against Pakistan at home.
Sehwag broke Sanjay Manjrekar’s record
During this time, Virender Sehwag broke the record of Sanjay Manjrekar, who had played an inning of 218 runs in the Lahore Test match in 1989. Sehwag’s innings was ended by pacer Mohammad Sami. Veeru scored 309 runs in 375 balls in Multan which included 39 fours and 6 sixes.
Broke his own record against South Africa
March 29 is special for Sehwag in another sense because on this day in 2008, he became the Indian to play the highest innings in Tests. He had destroyed his own record of 309 runs. On the third day of the Chennai Test, Sehwag broke his record by scoring 319 runs against South Africa.
