How to reach Tungnath trek
The best way to reach Tungnath by air is from Dehradun. Jolly Grant Airport is the nearest airport to Chopta, it is located in Dehradun. From the airport, it takes about 9 hours to cover a distance of 220 km to reach Pangar village near Chopta. By train you can reach Dehradun, Haridwar and Rishikesh which is one of the nearest railway stations to Tungnath. Then from here you can go to Chopta. If you are thinking of going by road, then you will first have to reach Pangar village of Dehradun and Haridwar from Delhi and then go to Chopta from there.

How to plan?
If you are planning a trip to Tugnath then keep these things in mind.
-There is no major stopping place from Chopta to Tungnath. You should keep enough water, trekking shoes, warm clothes, raincoat, sunscreen and first aid kit etc. on the way.
-Keep light snacks with you to eat when needed, for example glucose, chocolate, biscuits, dry fruits etc.
-Carry walking sticks and waterproof trekking shoes for extra support as there is a possibility of slipping on ice.
