So far, a total of 30 countries have imposed sanctions against Putin and Russian businessmen and nobles after the announcement of sanctions by the US. These include all 27 member countries of the European Union (EU) – Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Sweden are included. Apart from this, Britain and Canada are two more countries, which have imposed sanctions on Russia and Putin.

Under the sanctions imposed by the US and the EU, the assets of Putin and his officials established in the US, EU, UK and Canada will be confiscated. In the US, people on the banned list will also be banned from traveling. It is worth noting that such steps had not been taken by the western countries so far. However, despite these sanctions, Russia has said that it already expected these steps.
